Rough Puff Pastry

Ingredients

  • 250 g all-purpose flour (divided into 125 g portions)
  • 1 tsp table salt
  • 250 g unsalted butter (frozen)
  • 125 ml water (chilled)

Instructions

  • Place 125 g of the flour and the salt into the bowl of a food processor.
  • Use the food processor grater blade to grate the butter into the bowl of the food processor.
  • Remove the grater blade and replace it with the plastic knife.
  • Add the rest of the flour and the measured water to the bowl of the food processor.
  • Pulse the ingredients until they start to clump together.
  • Turn the pastry out onto some waxed paper and gather up into a ball.
  • Divide the pastry into two equal halves
  • Wrap each pastry half in cling film and shape into a disc
  • Chill in the fridge for at least an hour before using
